It's only you now. You've been running for what seems like an eternity and it's become dead quiet

The daylight (or what’s left of it) peeks through the canopy above, as you trek in what you hope is a singular direction. The last remains of daylight peek through the canopy above as you trek in what you hope is the correct direction. The frost on the air causes you to shiver as you begin to see an eerie blackness consume the forest. Moving with purpose, smoky, inky, tendrils wrap and twist through the trees as it moves toward you. The closer it gets, the harder it is to remember who you were…who you love. Holding on to your deepest memories is all you can now as you try to survive The Dark.

The Dark is a solo tabletop roleplaying game about being lost in a darkness that seeks to overtake you, and your desperate clinging to the memories of those you loved.
You’ll play as the last remaining of a group of friends who set out for adventure in the wilderness in Scandinavia. All was well until the path was lost in the midst of a dense forest, one by one your friends were taken by an encroaching preternatural darkness.
Try as you might you cannot seem to escape the tendrils of The Dark. However, you’ll soon discover that the memories of your friends and that of a love long gone, anchor you; ever so tangibly to the real world.
The Dark might consume you, but you’ll never be snuffed out without remembering those you love.
You’ll play this game using candles, a deck of cards, and dice as you fight to remain anchored to this world.

Reviews:

Exploring the relationships between my character and their loved ones took center stage, while horrors in the background nibbled at the corners. A vignette of darkness blurring the lines between memory and reality. – Reilly Qyote, Afterthought Committee

The Dark is a swan song for characters you’ve just met. Write broken people, and relish in their struggle. – Jimble, Sludgefunk

The Dark has you looking over your shoulder, as you’re asked to take a descent in the unknown and emotional catharsis. – NL Morrison, Print Weaver

The Dark is a truly immersive experience, beyond the horrors of what could be in the woods, it quite elegantly demonstrates that the most scary thing is being alone with your own thoughts and reflections. – Thom Owen, Dice Maven
