The mysterious Masked Lords preside over the Night Market, where vendors are always eager to cut a deal in stranger currency than coin. They say you can find anything there if you know where to look—and this adventure puts that to the test! Will the Princesses uncover the market’s mysteries to ensure everyone leaves a satisfied customer? Or be trapped in the Night Market forever?
The Secret of the Night Market is a zine-length adventure scenario playable by Princesses of any level. It functions as a standalone adventure, or slots easily into an ongoing campaign—it even fits perfectly into the Sweet Revenge module. Thanks to Perils & Princesses’ rules-light, gritty, and pretty approach, Night Market can also easily adapt to the game system of your choice with minimal conversion.
Inspired by Christina Rosetti’s narrative poem Goblin Market, William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the fairy otherworlds of Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away, Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, and fantastical creatures from Celtic and Slavic myth, Secret of the Night Market provides an unforgettable location and scenario for a one- to three-session adventure.
